Class Protests

Looks like the great class of '68 is protesting. ??!! NOT.... We are just following our fine cheerleaders in the "push'em back" cheer against Durham High in those great football games that we had. Any memories of those heated games? My Dad let me drive his tan Mercury Comet to the away game at Durham County Stadium ... probably not a wise choice by him, but we got back safe and sound. Hope everyone is safe and well!!

Hey Sue,

You jostled my memory.  And a good one too.  David Miller, Andy McCombs, Sam Schlitzkus, Tim Evans, and Alex Gordon and I were packed inside my dad's blue Chevy Impala that night (fall of '66) on the trip over to Durham County Stadium to watch the Caps take on the Brad Evans-led Durham Bull Dogs for the Eastern NC 4-A Championship.--we might have been right behind you on Highway 70.  Exciting game with Mike Bolton starring on defense in a game in which Broughton prevailed.  Really exciting--remember the Durham stadium announcer, after another Mike Bolton sack of Evans--"Brad Evans loses ten yards, tackled once again by 'his friend' Mike Bolton."

We won our junior year but lost a close on to Durham in the fall of '67.  After an 8-0 start we lost the last two games of the regular season, finishing 8-2.  Those football Friday nights were so exciting, so much fun.  Thanks for reminding me.

Sue, I remember you as a big sports fan.  Great to hear from you.  :-)

Hey Danny,

Tks for the memories as they say!! I hope some others will share their memories too.

Those games at Riddick were fun too. Remember the State guys hanging out of their dorm windows watching the games. Take care!
