John & Yoko lived on the 7th floor of the Dakota Apartment Building facing West 72nd Street and Central Park West….  On a Monday night, December 8, 1980 at  about 10:10PM, Jon Chapman shot and killed John Lennon in the archway of the Dakota.

Walking along Central Park was a favorite escape for me on trips to New York. I would often stop and look up at the Dakota and think of John and Yoko…and their music together...then retreat to Zabar’s for coffee and a pastry, reminiscing about my childhood and visions of growing up….
