“If you’re going to San Francisco….” That ever-loving metaphor of life it would seem—

Sandwiched between The Summer of Love in California ('67) and Woodstock in New York  ('69) there was our graduation from Broughton High.  And away we flew—in different directions for sure.....

I just read where my long-ago friend Andy McCombs found his way as an architect living below San Francisco along the Pacific Coastline.  How lucky for my bright friend.  Andy actually drove to Woodstock back in ’69 (with David Brim).  Don’t know if I ever thanked Andy for introducing me to that wonderful music back then.  He was a great influence on me.  Long-ago friends—they often helped to shape our lives.  Bet they didn't even realize....

Miss that group I used to hang out with--  Andy and David and Sam and Alex and Tim.....They were a lot of fun.

We all had a bit of hippie in us........ Back then in the summer of '67--The Summer of Love........

Andy McCombs:

I was living in Hollister, CA at the time, and the year was 2000.  I found out that Andy was living in Pacific Grove, CA which is a small town next to Monterey which is about 40 min. south.  I got in touch with him and took a ride in my 1972 MGB convertible to visit he and his wife.  I believe they had a young daughter at the time.  We had a good visit.  

Cruising down California's Pacific Coast Highway in your 1972 MGB convertible........There you go!  :-)
