Ed and I were in school together from the time we were 4 years old...kindergarten, Sherwood-Bates, Daniels, and Broughton. Not long ago, I ran across some of those kindergarten photos and picked out Ed immediately; his face didn't change much over the years. I was shocked by the circumstances of his death; I doubt any of us saw it coming. I recall that this happened on Easter Monday which of course was a holiday for us. During our senior year Ed sat across the aisle from me in Tick Taylor's soc-econ class at fourth period. (Remember that question--Who do you have for soc-econ: Vick or Tick?) When we were back in school on Tuesday, it was bad enough sitting next to Ed's empty desk but then Tick started returning some test papers. He came to Ed's paper and called out his name a couple times (no answer of course), then asked Anybody seen Ed today? You could hear a soft UGH going through the class until finally some helpful person told Tick what had happened. Although Easter Monday falls on different dates every year, I always remember Ed Hennessee on that day...RIP
