Johnny Temple was an old friend of mine. We were members of the same boy scout troop at West Raleigh Presbyterian Church and we played Little League baseball together although on opposite teams. Arthur Webb was one of his close friends and a close neighbor as well living in the Canterbury Rd. neighborhood. Rest in peace old friend.

Johnny and I shared our school days together from Mrs. Barret's first grade class at Frances Lacy through Leroy Martin and Needham Broughton and even State.  He once teamed up with Allan Walker who played center for us and Tim Evans and David Miller and I to help contain the imposing Bruce Holland and his teammates to win the 7th Grade Martin Intramural Basketball Championship (for Mr.Hopewell's class) in front of a packed gym on a Friday night.

Johnny was a friend and boy could he run!  Miles and miles and he never seemed to tire-- I remember struggling to keep up with him along Martin's track. Wonderful memories of Johnny and his friends. And so good to hear from Mike who also shared those same school days with  us,

And some of the other friends of Johnny's who played in that game (for the other team) that night--Chuck Anderrson, Mike Dodd, Jeff Brandon, John Martin, and Wayne Whitaker and my good friend the formidable Bruce Holland. Johnny had a lot of friends.  I miss those days with him.
